Guest guest
Other than that it's about dogs. Fact books about dogs, training them, caring for them, breed info etc... Both of these fixations have been life long. Today we went to Barns & Nobel because I had to return something. I went over the entire plan with him before we left the house. I also told him that we would not be buying anything there today. Well, he asked if I would please buy him the Star Wars Dictionary *****************Hi Charlotte, just had to comment on this as one of ’s current issues is Star Wars and yes he has several books…try a used book store. got several paper backs, a series, from one. The problem is book six was not there, so every time we are in the city we have to check. I am going to try and find it on line or I could be very old looking for this book every 2 weeks. We also have a stack of books on dogs. If you want to make really happy during summer vacation, or now!, buy him Simon & Schuster’s Guide To Dogs…great book…Funny story, was at Oral Surgery when he was 9 and was just going under when the Dentist said, “I bet you can’t guess what I have for a dog, it starts with a V”. replied “Vizsla”, just as he passed out…the dentist couldn’t believe it as this was correct….actually dog conversations are good ice breakers. has fallen back on this many times when he was nervous or just interested what kinds of dogs people had. He also knows a lot about cats,,,,,At least his interests have always been something we don’t mind learning about except maybe Star Wars. He has started writing to a kid on line about Star Wars. This is part of their school work. It is very hard for him and the other boy to think of questions, answers and to write, so this is a real start. Get the dog book as I bet you’ll enjoy it yourself….Gail
Guest guest
Thanks Gail, I was telling about and some of the other kids of parents I have met online, and he is just totally blown away by the fact that all these kids as so similar to him. He's never really met anyone like himself. There is one other Aspie boy in his school and grade but this child has several other disabilities as well and "looks" like he has them. His sensory issues are so bad that he needs to wear industrial head phones 90% of the time. So , although he gets along with this child, does not totally relate to him. He asked me if he could meet some of these kids I speak of and I told him I would check out local Aspie chapter to see if anyone was close. RE: dogs/cats/star wars Other than that it's about dogs.
