Guest guest
The Wedge Coop takes EBT and has a very good selection of foods! Where to buy with food stamps? I recently borrowed my neighbor a copy of " nourishing traditions " by sally fallon. She is very interested in changing her diet. The problem is, is that her husband recently lost his job and their family is limited to buying foods with their EBT card. Does anyone know of any stores or coops in the twin cities area that sell good quality eggs, honey, chicken, meats, ingredients for making broth, etc. that accept ebt cards? I would love to be able to give her a few recommendations as to where to start. I know whole foods accepts EBT cards but they just don't have a very good selection of ingredients to make broth, or good honey. thanks guys! Guest guest
Call some of the smaller co-ops, most do take EBT or SNAP benefits. Smaller towns tend to have a good selection without being too pricey but they are getting rare. Also, try some of your farmers too. I am in the process of being able to accept EBT cards for my farm produce but it takes a while to get thru the paperwork and such. Also, many of us who have CSA's do not have any workers this year. I know of a farm in Glenco that was hoping to have someone who either wanted a discount on a CSA or would work for produce, milk, meats. Bartering is also good with many farmers, most tho are not on this list. > > I recently borrowed my neighbor a copy of " nourishing traditions " by sally fallon. Guest guest
I have not had any problems using EBT at any of the local co-ops: Valley Natural Foods, Fresh and Natural, The Wedge, Lakewinds. They all accept. - Kuznia
Guest guest
I Midtown Farmers Market on Lake and Hiawatha takes EBT. You get wooden tokens depending on how much to want " debited " off of the card. Pretty cool program. a
Guest guest
Where is the midtown farmers market? I've never heard of it. As for coops in the cities like the wedge, do they sell good chicken parts for making chiken stock? Or whole fish carcasses for making fish stock? She was really interested in stocks because her son has asthma. I know that whole foods accepts EBT's but they just dont have the selection of cuts like farmers markets usually do. > > I Midtown Farmers Market on Lake and Hiawatha takes EBT.
