I am not a vet, never played one on TV...

My friend in Germany, who has two Newfoundlands which eat all kinds of weird

things (sewing pins, a whole cushin worth, just for starters.) said her vet had

her feed the dog sauerkraut, the long, stringy kind. The kraut wraps around the

stuff in the stomach/intestines, and the dog can pass them, maybe. The newfies

live on, after many adventures of eating odd and dangerous things. Best of luck

to your friend.

It sounds like he is dealing with a flipped stomach. Get to a vet!

Or an obstruction of some sorts. I agree get to a vet to make sure, not worth

messing around with.

I'm not a vet, but if it was my dog, i'd dash off to the vet post

haste. Sounds serious.

Good luck!

WHy isn't your friend at the vet? This sounds very much like it could be a very

painful bowel obstruction. If she won't provide the required vet care, can you

at least encourage her to bring the dog to the vet for a decent and humane

death?

main thing... is the dog still eating? if he can eat and drink without barfing

immediately he might be ok. of course, i'm a little late here. and would

probably consider a vet too. i know that when my dog gets diarrhea for a day or

two she doesnt poop for a couple days until she gets regular again. she

continues to eat though.
