TIPS Re: Are you walking the walk?

TIPS, I am interested in what farmers have to say about this.

My niece who is a massage therapist surprised me when I asked for her

opinion about tipping. She is a massage therapist in a physician's office.

She said it is insulting to be offered a tip. She said these people would

not offer the PT of Dr a tip. She too is a medical professional. She

really scoffs at people in her profession who accept tips and finds it

demeaning. I am sure my husband would feel the same way if someone offered

him a tip for what he does as a professional too. Gifts? Yes maybe. But

tips? Tips imply a low class lower end uneducated job. I personally would

have never thought to tip a farmer. I do not want to insult them! They are

respectable professionals.

I am interested in what the farmers on the board think. Is it insulting to

be offered a tip? I am interested to know if I am thinking of this in the

wrong light.
