Actually we are in fort Square which is not the richer side of town, most of the other side of fort is. Most of the houses in this area are between 190-260 thousand. Property tax over here isnt bad either, now if you go down the street, there is a new division, houses are about 320 or so thousand and the property taxes are about 8,000 a year. That is horrifying. There are actually alot of houses going up on the market here in the Square, it's that season. Where at in fort does the family live? Were about Harlem and Lincoln Hwy. I do like the area though it's very clean and well kept ********** Homes around here are only that price, any of the prices you quoted, if they are VERY NEW or mansions,. very large. No way I could afford one that would be about 180,000 or above! NEVER. . We actually even own our house, no mortgage, and I still could never live where you live. However, many homes here have high property taxes, some near me pay about 3000-8000$ a year, and our taxes are about that on the low side. So, our taxes are high, and we get nothing like you do in schools. We just have fewer people paying taxes and many homes are very inexpensive and so they pay little MOST of IL school money is from the LOCAL property tax. You all are RICH compared to us. Anyway, we do not have any AS classes, and in fact just in 1999 when my son was diagnosed AS, no one here even knew what it was. What a climb that I have had to have to get their attention and services on that. My son is now 16, and he is Aspergers and ADHD. My other son is NT ( neurotypical-- meaning not diagnosed anything. GRIN). He is 11 in May. 'I used to go to your area all the time, and in fact we still have some cousins of Ray's and some friendfs. We just never see them. Ray's aunts and uncles live in Richton PArk, where he grew up and also University Park. His cousin and her husband built a new house, EVEN bigger than their other one, HUGE, in your town in fort. Anyway, yes, someday we will have to meet, you are one hour and fifteen minutes from me. I used to take my boys to Odessey Fun World ( arcade . climbing place indoors, lazer tag, bumper cars etc) in Tinlet Park, over off 1-80 near World Music. My inlaws retired to WIS in 2002 so we never get that way anymore. in IL
