Guest guest
My family and I switched to traditional foods 6 months ago. We are very low grain and sugar and very high traditional fats and cholesterol (10-15 times the " recommended " amount daily). We lost a ton of weight rapidly and feel radically better but many friends and family were curious and/or concerned what would happen to our cholesterol and triglyceride levels. Well, my wife and I got our results back yesterday and try were even better than what I expected given the research I did. Total cholesterol/hdl ratio should be 24% or greater. ours were 26 and 42%. Hdl to triglyceride ratios should be 2.0 or less. Ours were 1.2 and .8. We are " eating all wrong " and the result? We lost nearly 100 pounds in 4 months and are in the " zero risk " category for heart disease. I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but the " low fat, high grain and sugar, cholesterol meds by the time your 40 " line of thinking is just sheer insanity.
