SI Challenge presents a conference for parents and professionals

" Too Close " or " Too Far " : The Relationship Between Sensory Integration

Issues and Emotional and Social Development

How we perceive the world determines how we interact with it.

Individuals

with differences in sensory integration and information processing

develop

a perception of the world, which may influence their ability to form

satisfying and appropriate emotional relationships. Join us as our

experts

from the fields of occupational therapy and psychological counseling

explore the relationship between sensory integration and that aspect of

emotional development known as attachment.

This work shop will help you learn about the interplay of sensory

integration issues with the individual's emotional and social

development at

different ages. The speakers will explore how such issues can affect the

family dynamic and the individual's relationships outside the family.

Finally, this workshop will address how such issues are treated.

Schedule:

Saturday, April 16 8:30am to 4:30pm (CEU credit available)

Speakers:

" Betty " McBride, B.S., OTR

Barbara Silverman, LMSW- ACP

Dean Beckloff, LPC, B.S., M.S., Ph.D

L. Gore, LPC, B.S., M.A.
