as usual IEP is here on the 10th and turing out to be more and more

of a nightmare. the teachers aer not communicating, and one is

telling me one thing, the other is teling me something completely

different and i want to ring all thier necks at this point. now i

know why i ran across a quote about IEP that said " always take

someone with you, preferably someone with training in hostage

negotiations! " why does this always have to be such a nightmare!

I don't know Angel, why the IEP meeting is always such a nightmare! It was the same with me when my son was in school. Looking back, I think it had an awful lot to do with money. The school districts are strapped for funds, and don't want to give up anything extra for any one student. Would rather live in a state of denial I think.

I offered one time to set up a program myself and train people to run it, all volunteer, and they didn't know what to do with me. I just wanted to set up a simple living skills program for my son, and a few like him that we could get together into a class. Set it up like a home, teach them to make a sandwich, turn on the t.v., stuff like that. It made sense to me, but they said no. About all they ever said to my ideas was no, and that has been over 20 years ago, and here we still are.

Marty is home, and he could have used a living skills program. haha

Oh well.

Love, and my best wishes,

Carolyn
