Guest guest
My son's teacher compares voice volume to a radio dial. She uses a scale of 1-6 with 1 being a whisper and 6 being a scream. It works great for my son. When he is too loud I tell him 'you are talking in a 5 and I need you to turn it down to a 3' and make a hand motion like I am turning down the radio volume. Now he can even make himself quieter if I just do the motion - which means I can cue him a little less obviously in social situations. Believe it or not a lot of kids Jack's all AS class have the opposite problem - they are always too quiet!
