Guest guest
Two of our kids seem to have issues with both bad breath and gas, and both are excessive milk drinkers. The other 5 don't seem to have the same issue. In fact, our 16 year old goes to the public school for wrestling, and the group was specifically told to avoid excessive milk because it causes " cotton mouth " and " phlem " , both of which contribute to breathing through your mouth and having bad breath. Not sure if there is a science behind that or not. I am hoping that since we just started on cultured and fermented foods that that issue may relieve itself. I have had unusually bad breath lately and have found that it's probably a result of tonsil stones....anyone heard of this? My biggest pet pieve is bad breath and I don't want to be " that " person. Yuck! If anyone has any suggestions for this please let me know off-list. I have thought about butter oil because of the X-factor but haven't made the leap yet. Not sure yet that this would do any good. Maybe I'm not eating enough cultured milk products. Thanks so much, I appreciate it! Guest guest
Bad breath many times is an indication of poor digestion. Also, as far as " cotton mouth " and " phlegm " , pasteurized/homogenized milk is a frequent culprit. As far as the " problem " with certain cow's raw milk, the factors are A1 and A2. A1 being more common in holsteins and A2 in less overbred heritage breeds. Go to the WAP site for more information. Incidently goats milk is A2. Guest guest
Tifanie, I've had patients scrape their tonsils (I remember one person used chopsticks, another used her finger) to clear them when they've had tonsil stones or very smelly breath. You might also want to do lymphatic stripping, where you push the lymph fluid and get it moving by both exercise (pump your arms to increase the effect) and by taking the sides of your hands, put the edges against your neck and, pressing firmly, move your hands downward to your shoulders. Move all around your neck as you do this. Do it a number of times a day. You are doing this because your tonsils are part of your lymph system, and if they are congested, it is likely your lymph system in general may be congested. Tongue scraping also can help with very bad breath, but in your case, with the tonsil stones, my guess is that the tonsils are the source of the odor as they may be harboring all kinds of junk that is decomposing and stinking. So if you scrape this junk out and then strip the lymph to keep things for collecting there again, you might be able to get rid of the very bad breath.
