Guest guest
Hi Alvin, For what it's worth, I have not known that the Warehouse has been back in business, and I'm guessing MANY of the members also do not know. I'm sure most of us do not follow this list...in fact, I'm sure many are not even members of this list. I used to get emails from the warehouse about events, but I haven't gotten any communications since it died and then, apparently, came back to life. If it's at all possible, you may want to try some communications to the member list ASAP to let people know that you'll be open tomorrow. As for me, I will do my best to try to make it in tomorrow. Kroyer > > No misprint. I am considering a new location for our connection to multiples of metro families that are tired of waiting for this TFMN entity to come back to life. I've been working on access to all variety of healthy food since June and can see noticeable progress on our route, but our support at the TFMN on Saturdays has been dismal at best. I met with the owner again this week and now have a firm commitment from Steve that we will again have access to 1/2 the parking lot that is part of our lease. We have a plan to recover the operations of the TFMN Warehouse and relieve Warren of the liability of being open without the consent of the city or doa. It's called a private food club and is in essence what we've always planned to be. It will certainly be cold again tomorrow and I will be at the warehouse before my 10 am market schedule. If you can find another ounce of strength to promote this idea of local food access, please stop in. We have a good supply of our fresh eggs and other food options since we deliver every week (some awesome citrus left and a new order in progress). We'll take orders for 100% grass-fed ground beef at $3.95 per lb in 10 lb lots! We're ready to plan a fun mid-Feb party that I call our Winter Squash and Lucky Pig Festival - if we can justify the effort. It's time to stop talking about " what if " and start doing. Market schedule is 10 am to 2 pm at least. We plan to attend the Slow Cheese (google Slow Food MN) event later in the day. Thanks for your patience, Alvin - www.schlangenfamilyfarm.com >
Guest guest
Sorry, I just realized I misread the date and was a week late to the party. Kroyer > > > > No misprint. Guest guest
I don't think you're alone, , I feel in the dark about what's going on at the warehouse as well. The info that Warren shared with this group, re the situation with the State, was also new to me. So many of us want to be able to shop there again!! I feel even worse about my friends who I encouraged to support it and who bought lifetime memberships!
Guest guest
The main issue here is that our food access had been rudely interrupted by our mda and something needed to be done immediately. In July, I put together a private food club to serve the purpose of maintaining access to local healthy food. We serve 100 some families, many of which were introduced to the TFMN Warehouse idea by me. We really had something special with the positive energy of many unique individuals and the willingness to share info was awesome. We hope to have that again soon as we rebuild from the wreckage. I will be at the TFMN Warehouse location for the scheduled market dates of 2/12 and 2/26. If you want details about my plans for the future of your memberships and access to local healthy food, send an email to me at foodfreedom@.... The Raw Milk Fundraiser was an amazing display of collective effort and showed a real sense of purpose. The International Raw Milk Symposium and potential for new legislation should make us all proud of our efforts. If you're hungry for a real update of real food, I can help. Guest guest
Yeah, we bought a membership literally like the week it was shut down. I love supporting local farmers and all, but I haven't received any information from the warehouse at all... if I was not on this list I'm not sure I would have even known about it shutting down. And I don't check this list regularly enough. I just hope when it does open up that we get a membership extension or something (we bought a year and have shopped there once). It really IS too bad that it shut down, but we are a very poor family who does whatever we can do get REAL food despite our tight budget and often have to go without in other areas in order to eat the way we do. So it was tough to swallow that money spent.
Guest guest
So, what I'm trying to do is connect with the membership of the original TFMN Warehouse - to pinch hit for an entity that seems to be handcuffed at this time. We've been connecting families to local farms for more than five years in the Twin Cities. We won't be stopped by harassment. Check our earlier posts and PLEASE, pass on our contact info for this project. It is foodfreedom@.... Stand up and demand your right of access to fresh, local food and farms! Be well, Alvin Yeah, we bought a membership literally like the week it was shut down.
