Guest guest
Deb, First of all, I would be saying to your doctor then why I am I paying you for if you will not explain to me a term and what a coarse liver is. That was totally a inappropiate answer to you. And sometime today in the photo section I will post some photos of the different stages of the liver. So that you can get a understanding of what the liver looks like during those stages. Just give me a bit so that I can look them up in my files on my computer. You will have to come to the group to access the photos look on the left hand side of the homepage and you will see a menu bar telling you the different parts of the group you can go to . When I asked what that meant, she said simply that it was consistent with HepC & that she wasn't going to explain the anatomy of the liver to me. Sheesh.Has anyone ever been told that and/or know what it means?Appreciate any thoughts. Hope all are holding up okay and hanging on to one's sense of humor.Love & Light,DebI am a rock, I am island...and a rock feels no pain, and a island never cries...- Simon
Guest guest
or as my fiend Ray says.........you got the lumpy bumpy liver...r Janet, it sounded like the ultrasound tech said that to her and she was right. It isn't their job to do that.

It is a pattern seen on ultrasound usually in a cirrhotic liver. I think your doctor's comment was inappropriate at best. Delores

Guest guest
Hi Janet, I am being treated at a county facility (no insurance). They assigned me to an Oncologist, PCP. She is a real piece of work. You can't believe some of the things she's said to me. I have Porphyria, another hepatic disorder...that's what I'm being treated for. Olive View does not treat HepC so the Gastro refused to see me. I was diagnosed in 1994 & until now, my liver tests have all been normal. Does anyone know if it's possible to get insurance after receiving the HCV diagnosis? My girlfriend's boss has offered to pay for it, if I can find someone to cover me. I'll look for the photos. A picture is worth 1,000 words. Thanks, Janet. Kindly, Deb > Hello Group, > > Just a quick question here. I had an abdominal ultrasound done > recently. The doc said it showed a " course liver. Guest guest
All I could get out of my doctor is that a course liver " is consistant with HCV. " Whoopteedoo! Might not matter to her but I've never had a course liver before so it means something to me. Sounds encouraging that the biopsy report made no reference to it. Thanks for the reply.
