Guest guest
Syliva isn't the only member from California. Jackie also lives here. I'm a California native, and going through tx. And I'm sure there are others here in the group from California, as well. I don't perform abortions on 12 year olds while smoking pot. I am working full time while going through tx, and come here to the group for support, not to be bashed or categorized as an idiot because of where I live. No, I'm not sure where I got HCV, but assume it was from a tattoo. I was never sick, so it's hard to pinpoint exactly where I got it. I do know I've had it for at least 22 year, maybe more. Thanks for your support, . This was a delight to wake up to this morning. I'm sure you know how many people categorize those from Alabama... but I won't get into that here. How exactly does this relate to the topic of HCV, anyway? Yes, I feel like crap this morning, did shot last night and my Saturdays suck. Waiting for my 12 week viral load tests, and hoping I'm clear. from CALIFORNIA
Guest guest
Okay I agree with Silvia. Foul language is not appreciated in this group. Why? Because for one thing you are dealing with 578 something personalities. People from all over the world. Look I am passionate about HCV also. I don't know how you got the disease but I know how I got it. From a needle stick. I am a nurse, been a nurse for many years. I only mentioned that because you referred that you were passionate about the disease because of the way you contacted it. But I think that other words could be used to get your point across and without pointing fingers in any direction. So can the language dear heart. Guest guest
You know ....I went over all the posts again and I can see where the misunderstanding was. I hope you'll let me explain... I posted the article about St 's. You have no idea about all the abuse I've had to put up with just because I'm an Ambassador for the same organ donor network as St 's .....as if I'd had anything to do with it....so I figured I better post it myself and say how I felt about it. As a sort of follow up, I posted the stats on foreign nationals and donation update for the month of Sept. The stats came directly from OneLegacy. Here's a copy: ______________ Subject: AMB: Dispatch #49 Date: 10/14/2005 1:48:42 PM Pacific Standard Time From: twallace@... DONATION UPDATE In September, OneLegacy transplanted more organs than ever before in our company's history. In the 72 hours after news of St. 's Liver Program, 11 families were approached about donation, 10 families gave consent and 9 actually became donors. In September: 37 Organ donors 40 Tissue donors 127 organs transplanted 3.43 organs per donor This makes OneLegacy on track for a 12% increase in consent rates for 2005 and a 6th consecutive year of increases in donation. With your help with are saving lives! STATS ON FOREIGN NATIONALS Recent data shows that across the US, 1% of transplant recipients are of foreign nationals and 2% of donors are foreign nationals. Also, 3.4% of recipients are non-US citizens and 6% of donors are non-US citizens. Thus, both measures are below the federal limit of 5% of transplants and both indicate that foreigners give a good deal more than they receive. Tenaya Wallace OneLegacy, Manager of Communications (213) 401-1011 (213) 413-5373 (fax) __________________________ When I said to Ric that I was practicing for the radio, I meant my comment where I said " Hope is alive and well ladies and gentlemen " .....and IT WAS A JOKE!!!! I never meant that I was going to talk on the radio about stats for CA for the month of Sept. That would be stupid....and in all honesty I wouldn't even remember them. To say nothing of the fact that it would have nothing to do with the topic of hepatitis C and the need for getting tested. The topic of Hep C is complicated enough without adding organ donation to it. When I thanked you for your input, I thought I was letting you know that I wouldn't do something that irrational and stupid. I have attended several speaker programs and given multiple lectures on Hepatitis C and I can assure you, I know my topic. Passion for this cause ....is more than cussing and throwing a fit when others may not agree with you....and since you think you can do better than me, or else you wouldn't be trying to teach me.....then you can do the radio interview...because I'm not going to. Furthermore, I consider this subject closed. Silvia > > > > > > > > > > Its not the money.
