Guest guest
, Antivenom is an antibody mixture, produced by giving animals (usually horses) the actual venom, in small doses. The animal produces antibodies to the venom, and these are collected and stored. When a human is bitten/stung, they administer the antibodies to neutralize the venom. It's anything live... just something that will hopefully reduce the length and severity of the reaction. Hope that helps! Sorry I wasn't much use when it came to the pancreas stuff.... I contacted a doc here who specializes in chronic and acute pancreatitis, but she has been at a conference for the last week. I will let you know when/if she gets in touch with me, just to let you know if she says anything that contradicts what the people there told you. I think the absence of anything big on the pancreatic imaging study is a good sign, but of course, it leaves you (yet again) without an answer for his stomach pain.... I hope you find something soon, so he can get some relief from his pain! Take care,
