Guest guest
The most obvious thing would be to use Arnica. You can get 200C at the co-ops. There may be better options for homeopathic remedies at this point, but couldn't help you choose one without knowing specific symptoms... Guest guest
big doses of beta carotene which the body can convert to vit A, or vit A directly, 150,000 IU for a few days have worked for our family. Guest guest
Before we all get too carried away, remember, asking for serious medical advice here is not only dangerous, it's a bit irresponsible. ly we have a good dozen certified holistic healers on our database, any one of which is either capable of handling serious pain using homeopathy, herbs, acupuncture or other forms of medicine, or referring you to another holistic healer who can. Support them, let them help you! While I appreciate everyone throwing out suggestions, I don't want to encourage group members in asking for free medical advice or support other good-intentioned people for throwing out " what worked for me " . Even though both ends of this equation prove to be incredibly tempting to do, it's a disaster in the making, not to mention, very, very bad medicine. Guest guest
Some time ago, I had 4 old root canal teeth pulled at the same time which was a difficult process. I managed the pain using only professional doses of arnica which is a homeopathic remedy. NO drugs. I also did not take any antibiotics but used antiviral/antibacterial essential oils and had ozone shots directly to the site from my holistic dentist. Now, I know this approach is not for everyone as it requires more attention to what's going on in the body. But it worked for me and I was able to avoid toxic pharmaceuticals which my body does not like. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Serious Pain Management For better or worse, I decided to have one of my wisdom teeth pulled 2 days ago. I was given a prescription of Vicodin, and told to alternate it with either Advil or Tylenol until it ran out, and then just alternate the Advil and Tylenol. I have been doing this, and I am low on the vicodin. I have a high tolerance for pain, but I have to say that after all of the pain meds worked their way out of my system over night, I woke up in so much pain, I practically cried like a baby. I do have some willow bark on hand to make a pain relieving tea, but I cannot imagine it being effective in this situation, when it it only mildly effective for my normal headaches. Does anybody have any alternative to drugs for managing serious pain, you know, the kind that requires vicodin? Thank you SO much in advance for you responses! Guest guest
I completely forgot about Arnica! Thanks for reminding me, and thanks to For the tip about the Vitamin A. :-) > > The most obvious thing would be to use Arnica. You can get 200C at the co-ops. Guest guest
Hi Roxanne, My daughter recently had her wisdom teeth out -she is very tough and had the same thing happen to her. One thing that helped was to pack the area with clove oil soaked gauze... really deep and strongly packed. My daughter did this herself and had huge pain relief -better than the pain meds. however, she eventually had to go back to the dentist and have it repacked -they can use their instruments to get the packing VERY tight in there.. and she FINALLY had relief... she was suffering horribly with the worst pain she's ever had she said. IF it isn't packed well, what can happen is tiny bits of food or other things can get deep into those crevices where they pulled the teeth out and cause really bad infections (as well as pain)... also, be sure you are washing your mouth out REALLY well... if you have a syringe or some type of something that can squirt the area with water to get any food or stuff out of the creivces, that will help prevent infection. so, I would HIGHLY recommend 1. washing your mouth well 2. get clove oil and tightly pack the area yourself 3. go to the dentist and have them wash it out and repack it TIGHTLY. don't risk infection! I hope this helps! Blessings! -Ellie www.GotFlax.com > > For better or worse, I decided to have one of my wisdom teeth pulled 2 days ago.
