Guest guest
I know many who swear by it and love the effects. It didn't work for Tyler, so I guess his symptoms aren't gluten and casein based or at least he isn't sensitive to it... YMMV!!! ~hugs~ RAbecca > Has anybody tried this with their children or themselves?
Guest guest
Hi My son does not follow this diet because he shows none of the signs indicating that he has problems with gluten and casein. However, I know personally several people (including adults) who do use the diet and have seen results (better sleeping in some cases, reduction in stimming and definitely an improvement in reducing constipation/diarrohea). Not everybody sees all of these. I also know people who have not seen results. You can find out about it in Luke 's first book " A user guide to the GF/CF diet " , which is very readable. Published by Kingsley. There are also internet groups devoted to it, I believe one is called GFCFKids - with a corollary GFCFKidsUK. There are urine tests which should be done beforehand. In the UK this is done at the university of Sunderland, in the States I think there is a place called something like Great Plains labs? in England
Guest guest
Thank you both for your thoughts and wisdom. I was just wondering about it. My son has lots of allergies so I thought that this would maybe even decrease his allergic side effects because most of the things that are gluten free and casein free are also free of a lot of other things that he is allergic too. However, I am not sure if he suffers reaction to gluten or casien themselves. How do they test this? Is it just a simple allergy scratch test like the others that he has had? Austin does a lot of self stimming so certainly anything that will help is a blessing. Thanks!! Jean
Guest guest
Thank you . This explains a lot. My son is not allergic to milk, but cannot seem to tolerate it well. This may be why! Thanks again! Jean
