Guest guest
Tonight my husband was taken to dinner by some consultants. They ate at Manny's. Before leaving for the dinner, I challenged him to ask the waiter if they had any grass-fed beef and where their meat came from (I knew the answer of course!). To my surprise, my husband not only asked the questions, but educated his dinner companions AND the waiter as to why cattle should eat grass. He also suggested they watch Food Inc. I'm very proud of him. He grew up on an Iowa corn/soybean/spray-the-heck-out of it farm and isn't one to make waves. I refuse to eat any CAFO meat but he still does when out. I had recently been on my soapbox about how one person can make a difference, be the change you want to see, etc etc. Evidently he was listening! It would have been best if he ordered something other than steak, but baby steps right? Also, the portions were so big that the leftovers he brought home from his plate alone was enough to make 2 lunches for him to take to work this week. and BTW - my dog refused to eat the steak bone - now that's telling! Thanks for sharing in my proud moment. Libby
