So proud tonight

Tonight my husband was taken to dinner by some consultants. They ate at Manny's.

Before leaving for the dinner, I challenged him to ask the waiter if they had

any grass-fed beef and where their meat came from (I knew the answer of

course!).

To my surprise, my husband not only asked the questions, but educated his dinner

companions AND the waiter as to why cattle should eat grass. He also suggested

they watch Food Inc.

I'm very proud of him. He grew up on an Iowa corn/soybean/spray-the-heck-out of

it farm and isn't one to make waves. I refuse to eat any CAFO meat but he still

does when out. I had recently been on my soapbox about how one person can make

a difference, be the change you want to see, etc etc. Evidently he was

listening!

It would have been best if he ordered something other than steak, but baby steps

right?

Also, the portions were so big that the leftovers he brought home from his plate

alone was enough to make 2 lunches for him to take to work this week.

and BTW - my dog refused to eat the steak bone - now that's telling!

Thanks for sharing in my proud moment.

way to go Libby, celebrating in your movement,

I just gave a 1/2 interview to St. Cloud Times today extolling

Traditional Foods source locally and consumers right to

choice.....reporter was starting to see the light in my opinion,

hopefully her article this weekend will reflect our view point.

I challenged her to go to the super market and interview shoppers

there to see what they know about nutritious food with the carts

filled with Captain Crunch Whole Wheat, Totino's frozen Pizza's, juice

box drink, cola beverages, and skim milk and wonderbread, and skippy

peanut butter. There you will see for your self what you get when you

rely on Gov't to protect you and buy those trusted FDA/USDA

products.....
