Guest guest
, I would be disappointed too. I bought a case of organic peaches when I was out in Colorado in mid Aug. at the beginning of the season. I was told by the grower that the season would last maybe 3 weeks. My peaches were slightly firm and perfect in appearance when I bought them. By the time they made the 2 day trip home in the car, they were ripe and delicious. We ate loads of them fresh. I put some in the refrigerator to extend their life (this works!). We also had peach shortcake and peach pie. I took the last of them to friends that accompanied me to the Boundary Waters. By that time, they were still gorgeous, but so ripe and juicy that you had to eat them standing up and leaning forward. I have considered doing a group order next season, but your situation is exactly what I am concerned about. Peaches are SO fragile. They really need to be kept refrigerated during transportation and before pick-up. Just 2 days could do them in. They are expensive, but well worth it, if you can use and enjoy every single one. Where and how did you get yours? You can e-mail me privately. Kathy
