I've been vegan most of my life.

I am currently a vegetarian and am seriously considering making the step to vegan. I would like to have a place to go for support and helpful information regarding veganism.

Hi ,

What makes you want to become vegan? What do you think you'd miss if you did? Is it a food/health/ethical thing?

Anyone have comments????

I became vegan purely for ethical reasons. My macrobiotics came because of health. I think that a good place to start is on the internet, books and finding others in person. I've heard a lot of people really love Silverstone's Kind Diet. She's vegan macro. Hey, I should get her to join my group! hahaha

Nah, I've been so bad and haven't kept up the group so that would be boring.

Peace,

Reggie

Hello Reggie,

I want to become a vegan mainly for health reasons, and partly for

environmental/ethical reasons. It's been a slow process to get to this point,

but I finally feel like I am ready to take that step to becoming a vegan.

Probably the most difficult thing for me to give up will be cheese! I'm pretty

fussy when it comes to " replacement foods, " and I have not had much luck finding

veggie cheese that is palatable. Any suggestions? Or do I just need to do

without?

My other challenge will be my husband, who thinks I've gone to the " dark side "

just by being a vegetarian, let alone becoming a vegan! So if anyone else lives

with a carnivore and they have suggestions of how to make mealtimes/going out to

eat enjoyable for both of us, I would welcome the ideas. I currently make 2

different main entrees for the two of us but we share the same side dishes at

meals.

I am really looking forward to all your advice, support, and wisdom as I move

forward in this journey! :)
