Guest guest
I don't believe in coincidences. After my undoubtedly accurate but admittedly unflattering comparison regarding the MDA inspectors, Warren called me to tell me of a rather nasty letter he had received regarding the guinea and quail eggs that I had at the Warehouse. It seems there were hairs (reportedly dog, cat and human) on the egg cartons. Oh, my God. I sincerely pray no one is eating the egg cartons. I didn't go out to the mail box yesterday and missed a phone call from the MDA so I expect to hear about this horrible circumstance in person, later. Warren says the letter he got threatened legal action against him. The puppies have teeth and are searching for pant legs to test them on! Anyway, people with interests in raw milk or any other type of food that the MDA or USDA doesn't want you to eat, take note. Either this list has, as a member, someone from the MDA or else someone is forwarding posts on this list to the MDA. Regarding the egg cartons: It is LEGAL to re-use egg cartons as long as no eggs have been previously broken inside the carton. That is the only stipulation regarding reusing egg cartons that I have ever heard of. People give me egg cartons, knowing that I need them. Sometimes I come home to find a huge bag of them sitting next to the garage and have no idea of who dropped them off. Admittedly, I own both cats and dogs and am a human. However, I have no control over any hairs that might come in on a used egg carton and I have no control over hairs that might get on an egg carton after it leaves my place. Without DNA testing of myself and my cats and dogs, there is no way to know where any hair that gets on the egg carton might have come from. I certainly am not purposely adding hairs to the egg cartons and I do bang/shake them off before putting eggs in them. If anyone knows how to wash a paper egg carton, please forward that information to me. Whenever they get wet here, they seem to disintegrate. (BTW, egg cartons are made from recycled paper. Could there be hairs in there?...) I can't say that I have ever noticed a hair of any kind on the egg cartons but I do need new glasses and can't afford to buy them so its possible that I just haven't seen these horrible, horrible hairs. At any rate, please don't eat the egg cartons; you might get a hair stuck between your teeth. Pat Z.
