Just wondering...

Does anyone else's child have a problem with bladder control? Kody still

wets the bed, although not every night. Monday at the pediatricians

office, I was told that the IVIG may actually make that worse (didn't

totally understand it, but something about the proteins in it causing

the blood to expand pulling the fluid from his body to his organs?), and

I was asked to keep a journal of when his accidents occur. I was also

told to not let him go potty by himself whenever he wants to, he has to

wait an hour and a half or as close to it as he can first. The goal is

to gradually increase the time he waits so that Kody is successful at

holding it for at least 5 hours, thereby allowing him to remain dry at

night. Otherwise he will have to be put on yet another medication. I

have been doing this for two days and was very surprised to find out

that at one hour and 15 minutes, Kody is BEGGING to go potty!! I never

realized that he can't go longer than that. Anyway, I was just wondering

if it were the IVIG, is there anyone else that is experiencing increased

problems with it around their treatment time? This is a hereditary

problem in my husband's family by the way, so it would most likely

happen without the IVIG as well, although maybe not as much.

Diane, Mom to Kody, IgG sub. def, epilepsy, asthma, GERD, and adorable!
