Meltdown Roadtrip Update

Thanks to all of you who responded to me last week during my

meltdown due to 's meltdown. Lots of melting going on here in

Texas.

is appearing to me to be more and more depressed, probably

due to realizing that yes, summer is over and yes, school requires

work. It is a real drag for him. However, we are all trying to

make the adjustment easier. I have moved up his dr. visit with that

in mind.

I did take a little road trip from Fri-Sun and go to Austin to help

my cousin with her newborn. It turned out to be a great move for

everyone's part.

According to my husband (who has not really had to handle these

daily outbursts), basically refused to do anything. So

took away everything; video games, computer......Still no

positive response, lots of threats, and eventually realized

my husband was serious. Then, things got better! By the time I got

home last night around 6pm, everyone was doing well.

Our daughter had spent the entire weekend home; no mall, shopping,

running around (which usually wears me out); had spent 24

hours with no technology, and was VERY happy that I'd brought him a

new book; and my husband appeared to have a newfound appreciation

for my daily life.

I know this is just a baby step, and that running away is not the

answer, but it really helped me to have stepped away and let go a

little bit. Now I'm recharged enough to face the ARD on Friday with

the loony vice principal (who called today to ask if had

taken his meds (!?)). I am praying for all of you, and so thankful

I found you.

Thank you for listening. I hope I can help you in return.

Love, Candy
