Well, I KNEW this would happen but 's come down with a cold or something

as of Tuesday (today), and we're flying to San Diego on Saturday. She has a

sore throat, little red, fever (not too high) and is droopy. No sinus or

anything yet. We're seeing the ped on Thursday as our last-minute ear check

(recommended by immuno even if she seemed well), so I can discuss this with

her then. But does anybody know what it is that you shouldn't fly with? Sinus

or ear infection obviously but what about a cold or congestion? Any

suggestions? I was already planning on dosing her up with Donatussin

beforehand as a precaution.

She still uses a pacifier, is that enough sucking for takeoff and landing or

should I resurrect the bottle for the occasion? I'm also bringing tootsie

rolls since they require lots of chewing.

Sigh. Cross your fingers she doesn't get a secondary infection!

On another " fun " topic, they have found even more mold in our condo. They

pulled the drywall off one wall of 's bedroom closet and it's MOLD floor

to ceiling, including ceiling. It's a monster. We have now been out of our

home for six months!!! It just keeps getting more and more interesting. I

don't know why but the thing that bothers me the most is the thought that

this mold could possibly have caused 's immune disorder. But there's no

way on earth to know how long the mold has been there, no way to prove

anything. All our stuff, every last item, is gone to a decontamination

warehouse, everything was contaminated. I've made my peace with all the

things they have to destroy, and even overcome the sadness of not having any

of our wonderful, sentimental Christmas ornaments with us here... I decided

to put and I to work and we MADE all our own ornaments. My

sister-in-law and mother-in-law heard about this and also made some ornaments

for and her cousin to decorate, SIL is loaning us an angel tree-topper,

MIL some lights. This will be the best tree ever!

But our St. Day celebration has been cancelled, as 's grandma

has come down with something. I hope this year is better than last year,

every single holiday from Thanksgiving through New Years got messed up due to

sick relatives and risk of exposure. I hate that!

I hope that is feeling better and it doesn't disrupt your travel

plans. I have no idea about flying with a cold or anything.

Yuck on the mold issues. I can't imagine. What a pain!!
