Once, an 8 yr old boy came to the meal I had prepared for my clients, and he tasted the azuki bean soup and went " yucky " and pushed it away! The parents were mortified, and I laughed. The soup was good, but way out of his familiarity zone. Since then, he's enjoyed several other soups that I have prepared! Thanks for sharing your expertise with everyone.
