Thanks Dottie. I definitely think I should see someone since I still feel like I'm floundering. You brought up alot of good points that I'll keep in mind. I'm the type that will think of a question or something I should have said 2 days later while I'm in bed. That's why I'm not good at fighting LOL. I always think of great come backs a week later. I can't wait for the fall - I'll get back into a good routine, go back to work (ok not so great) and I love fall food. Now I just have to find that Hato Mugi stew posted awhile back. Thanks again for your support. giDottie Roseboom <rosedot@...> wrote: Gi, Most counselors like as much info as possible. However, a consultation can be done without a M.D.'s diagnosis. And I've found that several consultations are usually helpful, as one's condition will change & dietary modifications will be needed. One of my big mistakes when beginning macro, was not to change my diet with the seasons. My summer consultation recommended cooling foods for our hot, humid summers. Since those foods made me feel so terrific, I didn't see a reason to change. Well, we had an extremely cold winter, & I about froze, before I changed over to some warming stews. (DUH!) We are fortunate to have several counselors in our group. I'm sure that any of them could give you direction. I've also worked with Warren Kramer (his wife, Fatim, just joined us). Warren is not only a great counselor, but also a great cook, which is an invaluable combination for anyone just beginning macro. If you decide to do a consultation, write down all of your questions BEFORE the meeting - you'll be amazed how quickly the meeting time goes! And I like to have someone take notes for me, as I'm usually am too engrossed in absorbing the counselor's comments to also be writing. The 3 counselors that I've had give out recipes & a check-off list of your specific needs. All the foods that will help you are listed, as well as what should be avoided. Most counselors will have free email follow-up. Be sure to ask how many....as their time is

valuable. And when you mentioned the Hato Mugi, I just happened to think about the occasional husk that you'll find. I usually look thru hato mugi before & after I wash it, as the husk can be hard to see when it has dust on it. It looks like a small piece of shell, pretty hard to chew! Good luck, Dottie Hato mugi>>>> Oh my...... Marlie just told me she loves Hato Mugi. I hated that stuff but> made some today> 1 part hm to 4 parts rice it was
