Guest guest
I don't think that they were worried about the earthquakes per se, but rather the radiation leaks from a power plant that had been damaged by an earthquake. I'm guessing that the present production of miso & natto will be okay, but future production might not be, if the soybeans or water are contaminated???? All depends on how close the leaks were. (of course, there was quite a bit of radiation contamination at end of WWII) Dottie R products in japan Hello all,I wrote to at Warabe Mura, a super high quality macro mail order service. He and his Japanese wife run the show. (He's like the of Japan!) He said:"Lots of earthquakes, always is here, Japan accounts for about 20% of worldwide figures. Not heard anything about the quakes affecting the quality of product here."Hope that might put minds at ease.
Guest guest
Yes, I agree with your point.... I feel a little bit better knowing he is in contact with all the high quality shoyu, miso, & ume makers, so I'm sure he would have heard if the integrity of something was compromised. It's still something worth investigating further, and on Aug 5 or 6 I'm going to be seeing my teachers, so I'll ask them too. > > I don't think that they were worried about the earthquakes per se, but rather the radiation leaks from a power plant that had been damaged by an earthquake. > > I'm guessing that the present production of miso & natto will be okay, but future production might not be, if the soybeans or water are contaminated????
