Guest guest Posted July 8, 2007 Report Share Posted July 8, 2007 Hi everyone!! Well, I've got my very first batch of KT ever brewing. The scoby was a bit small, which concerned me little. I wasn't sure if I should cut the basic recipe down or not, but, went ahead and did the basic recipe ( 4 quarts tea/water, 1 1/2 cup sugar, 2 cups starter). I used 7 tea bags, mixing with green, white & black teas. I did everything last night so obviously, there's nothing happening yet. Do you think I might have problems using a small scoby (4 " to 5 " inches in diameter) with the mix proportions as stated above? Everything is in a 2.5 gallon glass cookie style jar (Anchor-Hocking) I found at Target and covered with a muslin cloth (much tighter weave than cheesecloth). Thanks for any input!
