Guest guest
I am having the hardest time handling my emotions after hearing what my daughter goes through at school. I recently requested and IEP for her, and I believe they are settin up a 504 meeting or something to that effect. But in the meantime until a plan or something is set up, I become irate almost everyday after she comes home from school to tell me what went on. Today was relatively mild, but what upsets me is that all of her teachers have been informed of her problems and they still show no empathy toward her. I have always told her when she doesn't understand something to ask for help. She has ocd/adhd and now the doctor believes tourettes, because of the nose picking issue. Anyway, there is a girl at her school that is constantly riding her about her picking her nose. Today she didn't understand anything that was taught in english, and when she told the teacher she didn't understand and didn't know what to do after class, the teacher told here, well you should have paid attention. And that was it. She asked the girl that sits next to her for help and she told her " you were too busy picking your nose instead of paying attention " . It just kills me to hear this stuff from her. Should I just take her out of school. I really don't want to, but I don't want her self esteem to get so low that she'll never come out of it. I'm just so effected by what she tells me from school.
