Guest guest
Hi I am new to this group and I am new to Kombucha (my first batch in progress now). I've been taking a look back through the past messages and there seems to be a lot of debate about the best type of water to use: reverse osmosis, distilled, tap water, boiled, spring water etc. I'm using a Berkey Light water filter fitted with Black Berkey water purification elements. These elements are not just 'filters'. Like the name says they also purify the water but leave in the good minerals etc. I have been using this to treat my tap water for several months now and the water no longer tastes like it came out of a swimming pool. They claim that these elements are so good that you can treat water from stagnant ponds etc and make it safe to drink!! If you want you can also fit additonal filters (PF-2 elements) to remove fluoride and heavy metals too. Just in case you were wondering, I don't work for them but I do use their product and find that it produces great tasting safe water cheaply. They sell via ebay too. You can get the full specs here: http://www.berkeywater.com/start.main.html The Berkey site is here: http://www.berkeywater.com/start.main.html The Black Berkey elements fit various models so you can purchase the one that suits you best. Ps. My cultures seem to be coming along nicely in the purified water! --------------------------------- is the world's favourite email. Don't settle for less, sign up for your freeaccount today.
