Ozone will degrade your parts unless they are made of glass, silicone,

teflon, or PVDF (Kynar).

Why don't you try H2O2?

Dear Dan,

Yes and no.

Ozone will destroy any bacteria or virus it comes into contact with.

No contact = no destruction.

It is up to you to make sure that ozonated water contacts the entire

surface area of the equipment. If you can't do that, then you need to

use disposable equipment.

Anything over 20 ug/ml is going to do the job within 10 minutes, assuming

that the visible fecal material has already been removed.

Have you contacted suppliers of this equipment in the US? I am sure that it

is

relatively inexpensive to use disposable tubing on the inlet side, where it

counts.

Best of health!

Dr. Saul Pressman

Dear Dr Saul and list members

I am wondering if I can use my ozone generator to sterilize the

colonic speculum(rectal insert) and flexible poo hose for additional

uses. This may be ok for myself but I would like to know if this will

kill any lurking E Coli bacteria and really sterilize the equiptment

so I can SAFETLY use it with other people.

I live in the Philippines and the disposable colonic packe are not

available here.

I plan to use a good disenfectant before adding the final ozone soak.

What are the ozone setting and for how long do you suggest.

Thank you

Dan

I'm horrified at the thought of this. I would not want to have a

colonic (or whatever) that involves re-using equipment that has been

in contact with another person's bodily fluids or waste.

I think this is an unsafe practice.
