No, Hanan, you can't use sugar for brewing Kombucha. The sugar is not meant for you, but food for the Kombucha culture, which will transform the sugar into acids which will be a help to your body. Just let the Kombucha brew until it has a good acidity. The longer you brew, the less sugar there will be left for you. No worries. BTW, most artificial sweeteners are bad for you. It is much better to train your tastebuds to accept things less sweet and cut back on sugar naturally. It is much more important to cut out fats, especially margarine fats or any transfats which come from highly heated or processed oils.
