Guest guest
Hi all...hope everyone is doing well...I haven't been here for a while...life has been busy...adjusting to school starting again...I also homeschool my oldest... my husband is on a transplant list in Boston...his MELD score at the moment is 32...he was told on august 16th that he was #1 for A type blood at this hospital...since that time he has been hospitalized twice for acites and varices. fortunately his kidneys are working great. His primary care doctor is getting extrememly frustrated with this hospital because they don't seem to be in any rush to transplant him and give us very little information or hope...believe me i know it's a waiting game and they can't predict when they will get a liver for him but we just feel in our gut that they are keeping something from us. Anyway...my questions is can anyone share their experience and give me an idea how long people waited for a transplant or if anyone has packed up and moved in order to have a better chance of transplant. My dr told us of a hospital in Kentucky that has a fast transplant time...it is called " The Jewish Hospital " . His dr. estimates that he only has about 6 months left to live if we don't find a liver. thanks for your help...Kathleen
