Guest guest
hello everyone, and thanks for all your valuable help!! my brews have been largely successful (save for the episode or two of too much sugar), but i've noticed that my add-ins are causing temporary teeth discoloration (at least until i rigorously brush my teeth with toothpaste). i've tried adding fresh (pureed) raspberries as well as raspberry concentrate to the final brew, but in both cases, i get black lips and teeth after drinking one or two bottles. after speaking with a friend in orthodontics, he says the acidity of the brew causes my teeth to become porous, which is why the raspberry is coloring them. has anyone else experienced this...? any suggestions (other add-ins, etc.)? thanks all! danielle
Guest guest
Hi le, I haven't experienced this myself, but I believe, as you said, that the acidity of the KT making the tooth enamel more porous, brushing teeth just after drinking KT could weaken the tooth enamel. The same would be true of Kefir also. Try using a stain prevention mouthwash, or just water to rinse your mouth after, and brush later. How much later would be one for a dentist to answer!
