Dufus the new boss called me on the radio and told me I had to stick around the bus barn for a confrontation this morning. I told him I could not, had doctors appointment... three times he insisted I must stay, the third time answering I gave my home phone number over the air so he could call me. I left my write-ups and a note that he could meet me in the waiting room at the Clinic or phone me. That afternoon I was called into his office. I was armed with my journal of what had happened from my point of view. When I walked inside I was told to close the door behind me. At that point I told him I would feel more comfortable with another driver present... I was allowed to go pick out a man... Lol Dufus then started off telling me this was a meeting for my information and I would have no input... Ya Right.... better men than he have tried to shut me up, and failed. He started reading off his notes what all has supposedly been going on. I opened my notes and read to him what had actually happened... possibly a bit jaded toward my side, but I really did try to make it accurate. Watching his face... Now that was a Kodak moment! Anyway, to give an example of how this meeting went, I was accused of "malicious obedience" after I wrote up 19 kids because of the pop bottle and candy wrappers. That stopped me dead and I think my jaw was hanging in disbelief. I reminded him that I had repeatedly tried to tell him I could not write up kids for putting their garbage into the trash. I had even pointed out to him that they would just throw the wrappers on the floor and claim not to know who did it. He insisted at least three times that if I could not catch who put the garbage into the trash then I was to write up the entire bus. I then asked him what malicious obedience meant, he ignored me. Ended up the other driver and I walked out on him as it was past time to head over to the school and we had heard enough. I will schedule a meeting with the superintendent on Monday. At this point, at least three other drivers will come along for support and as witness to the boss' driving/people skills. Had shot # 3 this morning and I really don't need this sh_t. But, enough venting for now and thanks for letting me... it really does help.
