Guest guest
hi everyone! i'm very excited about kombucha. it has been making me feel wonderful. i let my first batch brew, and after 2 weeks, it still tasted very sweet. at 3 weeks, did as well. however, i harvested some of it and left the rest to brew more. my feeling on the matter was that the mama has to eat all the sugar in order to make it be as healthy a brew as possible, but now, after 4 weeks, it has gone super sour and tastes how i imagine bile does. i hope i didn't ruin the mom, it seemed to already have 3 babies! should i not be letting it brew as long as i did? all of the websites i've read say 5 days-2 weeks, but i thought it shouldn't be sweet anymore. i used a green yerba mate, if that makes any difference. and also is there anything beneficial to my health that can be done with sour kombucha? i've read that kombucha is awesome to soak your feet in, and since i won't be injesting it, i thought maybe i could use it for some skin treats. any thoughts are appreciated! thanks and cheers to wonderful health! -emily
