Guest guest
Dear Kathy, O.K. my computer is developing a mind of it's own. Pretty scary. It just sent a message before I started typing. EEEEKS. Thank you SOOO much for your words of encouragement. I thought I remembered that you had had some success with Risperdal. I feel much better, especially since Kel and Annie seem to be cut from the same cloth. I saw Annie at school this morning and she is incredibly sleepy, but really I have to say that's a nice change of pace!!! As she bounced around the doctor's office yesterday he asked how her activity level is. I just laughed and pointed at her. He warned us that it might make her excessively sleepy and I just laughed again. Her? Sleepy? HA! And yes, he noticed that she has developed a tic (the throat clearing thing we were discussing on this list last week or so). It took about three minutes for him to pick up on that. He's hoping the Risperdal will help that too. So now before my psychotic computer does something bizarre, I'm sending this. Thanks again! Guest guest
Hi, Thanks for your great advice. I had my husband read them too, and when I have him read people's posts from here, he seems to REALLY understand. It is better than any book. I think that when our kids gets so angry it is so easy for us to forget that it is anxiety talking. And it means that they are being pushed too hard. Well, for us, that was obvious because she hadn't had therapy for a while. She is feeling some relief now since we started up with her old therpaist. They have a great relationship and my dd trusts her. She has started some new ERP ideas, and is really eager to learn and help. You are right, what more could we ask for? Thanks. So you have been learning about this for 7 years. I really appreciate your help. I have realized (I don't know why I keep forgetting this??) that we have to take real baby steps in the larger rituals. But what relief it is just to know that we are heading in the right direction. That is much better than butting heads and being angry all the time. Things have been better. Now that we have a therapist leading, I am trying to back off. I think that I was trying to be the leader and that doesn't work. I need to be her MOM. She made a great friend at day camp last week. She even told her about her ADD/OCD. She felt very comfortable and trusting of her. I am proud that she is beginning to feel comfortable with it too. I still don't tell people, (except those that need to know) and a few friends. But if she wants to, I think it is fine. I don't want her to be embarassed by it. ENjoy the holiday weekend Ellen
