Hello, it is funny to see this email because my daughter who is now 10

(never diagnosed because my pediatrician kept assuring she was going through

phases) used to be convinced her shirt would get stuck! I have never heard of

that before until now. She went through one thing after the next but they were

never severe enough to where she couldn't get past it. Still at this age

now, she still has nights were she is afraid to go to sleep for fear of dying.

I am always able to talk her through it. However, I have a 6 year old in

therapy because he was convinced that he was going to kill me. This is very

common for OCD in young children very attached to a particular person. He was

so afraid to lose me that he thought he would be responsible if something

happened to me! He showed symptoms since he was three, such as asking the same

questions over and over. After starting Inositol (a vitamin B) and therapy,

he showed a great improvement after 2 weeks. His bad thoughts were

controlling his every move. I started insisting that he think his thoughts

through,

then look at me and see that I was fine. After he faced this fear over and

over, they went away. He hasn't had bad thoughts in almost 2 weeks! Thank you

so much to everyone on this site. There were nights that I really thought I

was going to lose it and you all got me through it! I pray every day that

things stay calm for my family and for all of your children!!!!! Jodi
