Guest guest
My son is on 50 mg anafranil and 300 mg luvox. He started the anafranil last Jan. during hospitalization. He had shakes early on with this medication but it did go away. He also gets sweats from this medication, the sweats usually come within the first several hours after taking the medication. They have gotten better but have not gone away. The medication is helping so the side effects seem worth it.

Guest guest
Hi, . My daughter has never taken anafranil but she did get the shakes from Zoloft. It lasted for awhile (weeks?) and then went away. Kelley in NV

Guest guest
Hi , Yes my son amer has his hands all the time shaking, as you said its the side effect of the medications. He is in college majoring Land scape Design & he is supposed to handle the Camera & take photoes they are coming as they should because of the shaking hands. He mentioned to his psychiatrist this & he adiveced him to use this thing with three legs to put the camira on. I wonder if anybody on this list knows about any solution for that for that. Guest guest
My son is now taking 5 mg of Abilify and his tics are indeed gone but he is shaky and the OCD is not being helped. We're headed to the pdoc again tomorrow to discuss adding an SSRI... he (and we, as a result) have been in crisis mode (no school, lots of crying, fits, obsessional talk/behaviors) for over a month now although looking back we were on the brink of crisis with this for years. Anyway, does anyone out there know how soon after starting something like Abilify an SSRI can be added to the regimen? in AZ
Guest guest
Well, I don't think that any time has to pass before adding an SSRI to Abilify. Quite honestly, I'm confused by the fact that your doctor prescribed the Abilify first. It is more the norm to add the antipsychotic to the SSRI to boost it if it doesn't work. Keep in mind that an SSRI will take several weeks to reach full effect. Both of my kids take Luvox (which the doctor tells us isn't an SSRI) with Abilify for Hannah and Risperdal for . I hope the appointment goes well. Kelley in NV
Guest guest
My dd had shakes the entire time she was on anafranil. Once she was taken off, the shakes stopped. Personally, I hated the time she was on it. It tore me up to see my little girl shaking & the weight gain was awful. I was so grateful when she was put on another med. Guest guest
Kelley, You said your doctor told you that luvox isn't an SSRI. Do you know what it is? That is what my daughter is on so now I am curious. Sandy -- In , kelleydinkins@a... wrote: > Well, I don't think that any time has to pass before adding an SSRI to > Abilify. Guest guest
I don't remember what she said it was--I think it might be in a class by itself. , are you out there? Can you help here? ( is pretty good at this stuff...) We do see the doctor on Monday and I'll be sure to ask her. Kelley in NV
Guest guest
Everything I see says Luvox is an SSRI. Is there some other difference about it? Curious. > I don't remember what she said it was--I think it might be in a class by > itself. , are you out there? Can you help here? ( is pretty good at > this stuff...) Guest guest
Luvox is an SSRI. It is not in a class by itself. Maybe they mean Effexor, or Anafranil? in Southeastern PA <@...> wrote: Everything I see says Luvox is an SSRI. Is there some other difference about it?
