Guest guest
Yay for understanding teachers! I had just been thinking a few minutes ago about how long into the 9 weeks (grading period) I should wait before I email teachers to see how twins are doing. They'll send home a report with grades, but I like comments. Was there any particular reason you spoke with just the English teacher, Sandy? Wondering did she call you about Bre not paying attention or something. > Hi all, I met with Bre's english teacher today. She was very nice and > interested to learn about ocd. She had thought Bre wasn't paying > attention when Bre would ask about what she had just said! I explained

Guest guest
Hi Chris. Bre had decided over the summer, since she was going to a new school, high school to boot, that she wanted to be treated normal and grown up. Her therapist told Bre that was good she is making decisions for herself. Her counselor in middle school emailed all her teachers. Bre didn't have any problems at school last year. She was afraid if the teachers knew about her ocd that they would reassure her or treat her special this year. I want her to be comfortable making decisions that affect her life since she is the one that has to " deal " with ocd. The beginning of school was overwheliming for her and so she decided to tell her english teacher because she is " cool " . lol. Bre can go in anytime at lunch too. She is Bre's safe person to talk to about anything. I wasn't contacted by her, just she noticed at times Bre asking about something that was just said, mentioned it since we were in there talking. I have letters ready for other teachers if needed and have no qualms about talking to them if necessary! About the twins...you could email and have the teachers on a weekly basis keep you informed. I did that with my son when he was struggling in english. On Friday I got a report and had the weekend to talk to him and threaten him! All in a days work.
