Guest guest
We had our oldest daughter on Imipramine which caused severe constipation. She was on it from age four to eight for self injurious behavior. She was also in daily psycho-therapy at the same time. She is now 25 years old. Three years old, we were told by the doctor who diagnosed our son, 3 at the time that she was ASD. It explained a lot of her childhood behaviors. She was a honor student all the way through school. She is on her way to becoming a special education teacher. She feels that if anyone understands what children like her brother are going through it is her. Our six year old was on Clonidine, but he only helped with sleeping no behavior or anxiety benefits. After we took him off all of his medications from the pharmacy, he told us that he was finally awake. Our neurologist just released him. He thinks the only thing left for us to deal with is the “behaviors associated with autismâ€. I found out that is code for more therapy. I am always a bit scared when the doctor or the school just wants to medicate him for his behaviors. We went down that road for almost eight months with no improvement. We are not just taking it one day at a time. Good Luck to you!
