Guest guest
Gee Marge, AND I PROMISE NOT SHOUT lol I am an american born and bred in Indianapolis and have lived here in Canada for several years and love it in comparison. I was going to leave it alone but parts of your rebuttal I think are part of y'alls current mess. THIS WONDERFUL, " SOUTHERN, " COUNTRY WAS SETTLED BY A BUNCH OF BRAVE WILD ONES WHO DARED CROSS THE WILDERNESS IN COVERED WAGONS Oh yea, but isn't this the same group who slaughtered whole races of peoples considered substandard? (hmmm .... sounds like Iraq) As well slaughtered buffalo (bison) to the point of almost extinction and left them to rot so as to hasten the demise of the Indians (natives?) The original settlers were whiskey merchants trading rot gut to natives to cheat them out of furs ala British opium trade in China. Which incedentally is why the Royal Canadian Mounted Police were formed to keep them out of Canada. The settlers (women, children and clergy) came many many years later UNIQUE COUNTRY WHICH WE WANT TO KEEP FREE FOREVER. WE RESENT ANY ENCROACHMENTS ON OUR FREEDOM TO WORK OUT OUR OWN DESTINY Right, except y'all have the freedom to create the largest prison population in the entire world. Larger than such resorts as N. Also, the 'patriot act', NSA listeneng to all your correspondances, renditions to torturing countries, Gitmo, War on Drugs, (ya'll are fond of 'wars'), CODEX, Jeeze the list is pretty much endless. Free to vote for government which is selected for your approval by the largest total of money from corporate donations to which they are beholden (military-industrial complex) Our opinion (not universal lol) is that americans are like the hells angels, quite pleasant one at a time but scary, malicious and dangerous in a group. Thought for the day Total up all the countries who were once your friends and you later screwed over. Canada is on that list ala softwood lumber (present day) which is not the only incident, just the latest. Actually the shorter list would be the ones that haven't been screwed over. Guest guest
! Thank you for saving me the trouble of having to write this kind of reply. It is long overdue for Americans to give up their ideas of elitism, coming to a grand country because our privileged ancestry had greater intelligence, skill and nobility. The US has been largely settled by bounty seekers and hunters who walked on and over people to establish a thriving economy on the backs of a slave class in the most oppressive and inhumane way in a country who claimed that " all men were created equal. " (not women either) We still have a long way to go to live up to that claim. We think that only money is proof of our superiority. Finally we got rid of slavery but still had to hate someone, guess who it was? Alas, civilizations do become vain.... Let's get organized around some good stuff like sharing KT! (among many others) cheers, On 4/29/07, peter <ooptec@...> wrote: > > Gee Marge, > > AND I PROMISE NOT SHOUT lol > > I am an american born and bred in Indianapolis and have lived here in > Canada > for several years and love it in comparison. > > I was going to leave it alone but parts of your rebuttal I think are part > of > y'alls current mess. > > THIS WONDERFUL, " SOUTHERN, " COUNTRY WAS SETTLED BY A BUNCH OF BRAVE WILD > ONES WHO DARED CROSS THE WILDERNESS IN COVERED WAGONS > > Oh yea, but isn't this the same group who slaughtered whole races of > peoples > considered substandard? Guest guest
Hello, Does this have anything to do with kombucha? I am on plenty of political lists. And I think they are great. However, I am not on this list for this kind of email. Perhaps I'm the only one who is bothered by this, but perhaps not. May I suggest that you correspond directly rather than through the list? Guest guest
Hi Bruce and Everyone, I agree, but since we are international I'm glad that occasionally we go off topic to get a sense of who we all are. I personally believe that if more of us(including leaders of nations world-wide) took better care of their health by using natural healing things like KT, Kefir and locally grown herbs the whole world would be better off. But there is lots of greed, envy, blaming, shaming, judging and all kinds of negative stuff done on a nation to nation basis. And maybe....someday....as a world we will learn enough to get a more positive spirit. I'm trying to take care of myself. The information that is shared here has been invaluable. I only hope that I can keep sharing on topic. A little chaos caused by off topic sharing may occasionally teach us something about ourselves. Personally I want to expand my understanding until I have genuine good feelings for or at least tolerate as many variation of human kind as possible. Guest guest
I actually don't mind a little bit of off topic subjects as long as its not rude, insulting or obsene. I can always hit the delete button. Im not sure here, but I don't think the moderaters approve every email before it goes on the list. They can correct me if I am wrong. But I assume they don't read and approve every message. That subject about our country could really create some strong feelings either way, and you are right, doesn't belong on the kombucha list. There are over 3,000 people on this list I believe. There's bound to be lots of different opinions. Please don't get discouraged. I have learned a lot about kombucha here, even if I have to do some deleting. Guest guest
Hi and EveryOne, Agreed this is off topic and should not be continued here. You are right, the moderators do not read every post before it is sent to the list. That would create a long delay in posts reaching the list and an incredible amount of additional work for the moderators. In addition to doing our best,to answer questions on the list itself we also deal with a lot of " behind the scenes " tasks such as previewing pending members, posting files and photos and trying whenever possible to read and respond to as many posts to the list as possible. It is a very active list with over 2,500 members world wide. All moderators offer their time and energy to keep this list going for free and most of us have busy lives as well. If you see a post that you think shouldn't be here the best thing is to send a copy of it to the list owner or moderators...if we are available, we will do whatever we can to deal with it. Please everyone remember that if no one responds or replies to an unwanted post on the list, it makes the work of the moderators much easier to delete it or just go on with the topic of Kombucha. Thank you for not replying to posts involving SPAM, Porn, Flames, etc. we will delete them as soon as possible. Feel free to use your delete key as often as needed:-)) Peace, Love and Harmony, Bev List Owner and Moderator -- In kombucha tea , " K " <kmk55@...> wrote: > > I actually don't mind a little bit of off topic subjects as long as its > not rude, insulting or obsene. Guest guest
I fervently hope it's not all as a follow on to the guns thingy. Nn. England. Re: Re:OUR PARONSOD NEIGHBORS TO THE SOUTH.
