Guest guest
My daughter,25 yrs old has 3 kids My first 2 grandchildres are autistic,my grandson8 and my grandaughter6.We have state of the art services here in upstate ny city of utica with residences throughout central ny,suburbsIts run by Upstate Cerebral Palsy. We have a "PROMISE" program for early learning 3yrs to pre school. Both my kids blossomed there. They still have a coordinator from UCP and there are many services.they house KELBERMAN CENTER FOR AUTISM RESEARCH.Right now the kids are at summer camp(day camp)for Autistic children and paid by their alotted monies. They horseback ride, fish, swim ,go on field trips. Its 4 days a week and at the end of the 6 weeks they have a fabulous picnic for family and kids. so wonderful. Now you can guess how i feel when my daughter suggests she wants to move when she finishes college to n carolina! She was there once...UCP also has continuing programs for adults with develop. disabilities, day programs, and residential programs. They run a school for kids not able to attend public settings.I worked there 10 yrs. before my grands were ever born.People move here for their kids.We even have a local church,Bible believing, that has a special Sat. church for autistic kids where the parents can go worship too while the kids have their special church(one of the parents of an autistic son started this....This is long but if anyone could live in upstate (very beautiful small towns and cities) it would help you so much...As for my question, you can see my concern.God bless you all...I read all posts daily!.......
