Hey ,

I agree that is how it kind of sounds but I think that it actually means

that you might be able to grow them but would not be able to sell them to

the public. Only the FDA/AMA would. They are not nuts, just totally

corrupted.

Hi , I haven't been brewing for a time and I need to get back to KT. Will

post my queries very soon. That said, what I really wanted the say was that I

found your " my flabber has never been so gasted " remark absolutely fantastic!

I live at the other end of the world, Argentina, and our government has never

bothered us by restricting the use or sale of herbs until now, when it's trying

to prohibit the use and sale of KOMBUCHA!!! I'm shouting in anger!!

ROFL!!!!

You sure have a way with words, .

You can bet this is one lady who will be an outlaw til the day she dies, I don't

care what the FDA tries to pull.

Nobody is going to tell me I can't grow and use my own herbs and take care of my

own family's healthcare needs the way I want to with Nature's help.

I think the actual intent of this entire thing is to regulate the holistic

industry, try and weed out a lot of the snake oil claims, and probably even

garner some of the natural/herbal/holistic alternative medicine cashflow.

You are getting a little bit carried away w/the 'the sky is falling,

the sky is falling.'

Not growing or using ANY herbs????

Where on earth is it already illegal????

Only the psychotic states would ever try the actual version you are

referring to, but is not at all as you describe and it will not make

anything ILLEGAL (yet)

Not to say what they are trying to pass is acceptable, and should be

fought, but get a grip.

Suggestion: join the sane and safe here in Canada and you too can

marvel in wonderment over the non-stop evil shenanigans of our

I predict this will be about as successful as eliminating marijuana growth and

usage in the US as well ;-p

We can get all hysterical about it, and that will do no good. But if you

research this topic well, the valid threat is there. We need to pay close

attention and take sensible action.

I agree , it is about regulation and $$. I have read the

bill and all the hype associated with it. I believe the legislation

is targeting " snake oil salesmen " . Lying, thieves who sell " special

raisins treated with the extract from the bark of one of five

remaining trees growing in the Himalayan Mountains " " If you eat two

of these $29.95 raisins a day for 6 months it will grow a limb back "

Remember a sucker is born every minute and two to take him.

I do believe we need to police the police, I'm not that naive. BUT,

as always this will come down to the upstanding citizens (like you

find on this message board) getting spooked. We follow the rules

associated with being helpful, honest and ethical while the lying

thieves will follow their own set of rules. When guns are outlawed,

only the outlaws will have guns.

I just don't see it happening the way it is being portrayed, but if

it happens , one of us on the board will sneak some Kombucha

Tea into the prison for you!

All the best......

Hi,

Here is a link to Dr. Mercola about the FDA. I am not positive I agree with the

interpretation from a DC attorney who specializes in FDA laws. You can read it

and see what you think. I am concerned about being able to help people, as I am

about to be certified in nutrition. I also am concerned that what is happening

in Europe with supplements will happen here.

Many of us would love to move north to Canada I would venture but I've been

told it isn't that easy. I have a couple of friends who wanted to move

there to be with a lover but were told that they didn't have job skills that

were in need so they couldn't move to Canada.

I can understand how and why some people in this country feel this is

necessary...however...my personal opinion is that people in general need to

take more responsibility for themselves. It IMHO isn't the government's job

to make sure I don't get taken on a scam...it is mine. Even people who live

on the streets in our country have access through the public library system

to the Internet...I know this because one of my partners lived on the street

for a while and we met over the Internet while she was living on the

streets. We have the ability and resources to do our own research and make

our own decisions.

When guns are outlawed,

> only the outlaws will have guns.

I have always stated whole heartedly that when this happens, I will become

an outlaw and the same applies to them trying to regulate my access to

herbs, probiotics, raw dairy and other healthful things in my life.

My understanding as a Canadian whose friends moved from the US here and

became citizens...is that you need to have a job offered to you or have

specialized skills before you can become a resident working on a permit ( I

can't remember what the permit is called but it is like a gree card

situation).

The other alternative would be to marry a Canadian and then apply from

outside Canada for permanent residency (landed immigrant status) or for

citizenship.

Not that many years ago (20?) we had a huge influx of ish trained screw

press operators...the reason being that there was no apprenticeship program

in Canada for the trade.

I may not have the facts right though...I'm going on memory here which is

fuzzy at the best of times with an MS adled brain.
