Guest guest
I think that Rock Glen (The place she had been) wasnot feeding her because that is how she came there......St Agnes Hosp (Where the finan center sent her when she got annomonia) put her on the feeding tude and when they sent her to Rock Glen they just left her like that! I went and seen her tonight. I took her a pocketbook and when I walked in I said Betty_ Its me-your sister! I brung you a pocketbook! She looked at me and then took the pocketbook. I sat down and tried to "Talk" to her. She said "Are you my sister"? I said yes! We have the same color eyes! haha! They gave her mashed potato's tonight and she ate them! I also got to give her a drink! She still has the feeding tube in her. She let me sit beside her for about an hour. Then she started to get loud and what she said next got me so upset.....She said "All the dark walls.............in the room at Springfield.......I hate land! I thought that she must have been thinking about springfield Hosp and the shockroom! I told her I would come up to see her tomorow. The place that Dennis tippen from finan said to was "Pleasent view" and it was on the other side of Fredrick. They said they had a bed there.......I hope I can get Betty there. Lois -- Good weekend! Guest guest
e, Hi!!!!!!!! Well....Its a long story..........I have a sister who is 20 years older then me and when she was 21 (late fiftys) she had a breakdown. she had just gotten married and had a baby and I think what she had was post partum depression but back then they didn't know that. Anyway-My parents sent her to this 'mental" place and to make a long story short she got instucinized (sp)? I was only about 2 years old when it happened. Now she is 71 and a few months ago she go pumonia (sp) she was sent to a hosp and they put her on a feeding tube. (She is about 2 hours from me and I couldn't get to see her. I was so upset and I finually got her to Hagerstown where I live and the nursing home couldn't take care of her! She was sent to our Hosp and sense she went there....2 days ago they have her eating some and standing up!!!!!! I am the only living relitive and I told her I was her sister........It is hard for her to remenber anyone anymore. (She has a son but you can forget him doing anything) So right now I am trying to get her to a nursing home that can take care of her. Sorry so long......Lois Re: -- Good weekend! Guest guest
Lois, this must be heartbreaking for you --- I do know what they used to do...it still breaks my heart to think about it. My mom as you know is mentally ill...although she has done amazingly once they put her on the right meds (lithium) 22 yrs ago....after she had me --- obviously she had struggled with depression most of her life...then PPD was awful...She couldn't take care of me...I guess i was about 2 months old, I went to live with my grandma for a couple of months until my mom was stable......My dad had no option but to put her in the hospital, in those days they had NOTHING to offer...nothing. She stayed, they gave her Valium, and they threatened her with electric shock --- she was scared into "saneness"...it only lasted until I was in the 5th grade, and then God love her....it was in and out till I was 20. I get it....and I'm soooooooooooooooooooooooo sorry about this. No one is to blame but the times in which she lived.... I will pray for her tonight. For you, for peace and wisdom... e From: lois noland <jlois@...>autism Sent: Saturday, July 18, 2009 9:15:21 PMSubject: Re: -- Good weekend! e, Hi!!!!!!!!
