when to refridgerate?

I have a question about when to refridgerate. I think I remember some

discussion on this list that some people do not refridgerate their

brews even after bottling them. Is this a matter of personal

preference? Is there a maximum temperture at which the bottled brew

" dies. "

My brewing cabinet has been really cold lately (60 degrees or so), and

my brews have really slowed down as a result. I just poured the

finished brew into a 1/2 gallon jar and drank a little each day. It

tasted good, nothing amazing and no carbonation. As it warms up in my

house, I imagine my brews are going to go much faster and I'm going to

start getting some bubbles. Am I thinking of this correctly? And if I

want it to be carbonated, do I have to bottle in smaller jugs?

This is more for my understanding than anything, but why do GT Dave's

batches have to be refridgerated?
