Guest guest
I've never done it but it has been discussed before on the Kombucha Tea tribe on tribe.net. Guest guest
No way! Have you tasted it? I love coffee but can't drink a cup of it without it upsetting my stomach so I'd be interested how this turns out. > > I started a qt jar of coffee 11 days ago. Kombucaf somehow doesn't light my fire. I'd be very interested to learn how it turns out, though I ought not to be prejuidiced and be prepared to mend my ways! ;-) Blessings, Margret:-) -- +------------------ Minstrel@... --------------------+ <)))<>< http://www.therpc.f9.co.uk <)))<>< http://www.AnswersInGenesis.com +----------------- http://www.Gotquestions.org ------------------+ 'Because he loves me, I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.' Guest guest
I will let you know how mine turns out. Thanks Sandy, I found this on Tribe.net : Mon, February 5, 2007 - 12:05 AM it's true; you can definately make super yummy kombucha with coffee i've had good success with a nice dark roast organic... 3-5 table spoons of coffee per gallon just like you're making coffee plus your usual sugar; i've had good success with 1.5 cups pour your cooled coffee/sugar mix into your baby batch without letting too many of the grounds get in (similar to if you're using loose leaf tea) it grows a little more slowly so be prepared to wait a little longer but it's worth the wait! oh and don't worry if the mama has dark splotches it took me a while to realize that it's just coffee stains love inspires even
Guest guest
It may be a few weeks. Everything I have was growing white fuzzy little pukes. Having to start over. It was my 4th brew. Not a good start. I followed the instructions. The guy I got my start from said he used 10% starter tea AND two tablespoons of vinegar for prevention. Probably give it a try. > What is the world coming to? > Thanks for posting the recipe! > > Intrigued and challenged, > > Margret;-) > -- > +------------------ Minstrel@... --------------------+ > <)))<>< http://www.therpc.f9.co.uk <)))<>< > http://www.AnswersInGenesis.com > +----------------- http://www.Gotquestions.org ------------------+ > > I try to take one day at a time, > but sometimes several days attack me at once. >
Guest guest
Actuallly the coffee brew is the only one that made it (so far). I had 4 one gallon jugs brewing they all got mold. I think I made the error of putting my bathroom heater in the room and I think it blew a bunch of mold into the air. The room was extra cold and thought it would be a good idea, NOT SO. I have a new culture on the way from Big D thank you ! I also heard people are adding distilled vineger along with the starter tea to increase the acidity. I will do the same. I used a SCOBY for the brew and have a new one on the top, still looks good just a little discolored due to the coffee. Hopefully the coffee one will make it. Thanks Margret for the good wishes, this group is so supportive and helpful, All the best to you all.......
