Guest guest
Hi, Just trying to figure out if we should try to enter our dd in a partial program at Memorial Hospital in Wisconsin. Do any of you have any experience with this kind of a program either in Wisconsin or elsewhere? Our daughter is pretty resistant to treatment and her OCD is quite disruptive. She manages, but doesn't feel any control over it. And it is very hard on the family. Last year we switched to a new therapist who is an expert in OCD (but not as much for young kids) and it worked for a while, but then it stopped. My daughter became resistant and argued with me the whole time there. It was kind of far away and she hated his " ugly " office. So we stopped seeing him because the sessions were totally unproductive. We were going to go back to her old therapist, who my daughter likes very much. But she is not an OCD expert. However, she has an excellent reputation and has read many OCD books and worked with some patients successfully. I kind of feel like any sort of support for our daughter at this time would help. But on the other hand, I feel that the best would be even better. But who is to say she would work with a new person? She says she isn't ready. Any suggestions? Hospital has a partial day treatment program for OCD. I don't know if it is full, but was wondering if any of you know about these kind of programs. It is expensive and I would have to know it was a good bet in order to do it. Thank you. Have a nice day. Ellen
