Guest guest
I just realized something I did differently from all my other brews. I used Brita filtered water from the tap instead of RO water from the store to make my brews. Now, in the past I have used the filtered water to make the tea, but it gets boiled. This time I used cool filtered water to top up the tea in the jars. Do you think this might have resulted in my mold infestation? BTW, one jar still hasn't shown signs of mold. The SCOBY is forming, and it looks rather strange, but I don't see any fuzzies. My storage jars aren't showing fuzziness either. Should I toss everything anyway, or just wait and see? (I know, wait and see, right?) I'm a little paranoid now, since I threw out two gallon jars of brew already. I think this last jar is actually the 1st one I decanted. a
