Fortunately, they guarantee to return your money if you return the set (in good condition) and they did refund mine, all it cost me was the S & H. I was grateful to get my money back. I don't imagine everyone has the same reaction I had...but if you try them you can always return them. dorothy

We love it. It's much cheaper than the alternatives, has a lot of programs free for the downloading, and the ability to make your own hemi-sync programs too: http://members.shaw.ca/duncancrow/meditation.html Duncan Crow
Guest guest
Hello Vanilla, and others, > > I was wondering if anyone knows about this binaural beats technology that is so highly recommended by Mercola > http://www.mercola.com/article/neuro_technologies.htm Yes, I know about both binaural beat, in general, and also its use by Centerpointe, and the stuff they sell. You will want to note that Centerpointe USES binuarual beat -- and so do several other tape companies. Centerpointe says that they do something importantly different than everyone else. Some agree with them and others think it is hogwash. The mind-l list (which I have not read in a couple of years or longer) tended (when I did read it) to have more people who thought it was hogwash. Binaural beat is a good generic term. Other terms (in case you want to search etc) are holosynch and hemisynch. Or is that holo-synch and hemi-synch? Whatever. > Anyone tried that or know anyone who does? I have used Centerpointe's tapes for about 3 years or so. I got a little advertising demo tape from them (free) initially, and I found I wanted to listen to this little " sample " thing 2 or 3 times a day, so I figured that was a sign I should buy the " real " thing Initially, I found the CD very helpful at a time when I was going through a lot of personal difficulties. I generally listen to it at night and (intentionally) use it to fall asleep (which they do not recommend). In general I like the tapes. In cases when I have recommended them or referred people to their products/site for information, I include a warning about their slick/cheesy marketing (depending on POV which one?) I don't think the tapes have " solved all my problems " and I really would not know what to make of their claims about it. I do think they are " good " and CAN be " useful " . I have continued to buy them, once or twice a year. I think I'm on " level 4 " . Lately I have not been listening nearly as often, and I don't really know why that is, and I'm not really concerned one way or another. I have ALSO used other binural beat tapes, but not really extensively. Monroe Institute makes a whole line of them, which cost " normal " CD/cassette prices (that is, around $10 to $20 a piece). There are also other companies. Centerpointe also has a posting list, on their website. I have not read that in years either. My recollection is that it tends toward new users and people who have not used the stuff but are wondering if it " works " . But it may have changed. good wishes, Moria
